A busy, but good day

Sunday was a busy day! We had plans to go to the Cleveland Indians-LA Dodger game (without Avery. I wanted her to experience the Tribe for the first time, but, it was just too dang hot. She would have been miserable!) But first, we awoke on Sunday morning to a phone call from my cousin, Paul, from Ohio. He was on his way to China and had a layover in LA for 8 hours! So, we thought, what a great opportunity for Avery to meet her second cousin...or cousin once removed...or whatever he is to her. (Still haven't figured that one out).
Anyway...we dropped Avery off at her friend Ava's house (and of course her parents Jen and Marshall) and raced to the game...where we braved the 95 degree heat and we watched the Indians lose 4-3. What is their deal lately?! Then, we drove back to pick up Avery and off to the airport to hang out with Paul for a while. It was great for her to meet him and hang out for a bit.
After we hung out with him, we jumped back in the car and headed out to East LA to have dinner with some friends. Whew! what a day it was!
(And thanks to our friend Brie for letting us borrow her car that has A/C. Mine is broken! And normally, we don't really care...but, poor Avery just sits there and sweats.)

Sleepy girl...and tricky...as you can see, she wiggled her legs out of her swaddle. oh, and the bandaids in these pics are from some shots she had. :( Her 4 month check up was the other day and she weighed in at 10.5 pounds! She's on the charts!

Friends from birth

Last week, Avery and I went for a walk and had lunch with friends that we met the day after Avery was born! Steve, Melissa and Anna. :) Anna was born a day before Avery and was in the NICU with Avery every day. It was there where we met Anna's parents, Steve and Melissa. Each day, in and out of that hospital, we would see each other and over time, we got to know one another a bit more. We knew exactly what the other one was going through, so, one could say that we bonded through that experience. :)
So, last week, the 2 moms and the 2 kiddos met up for the first time since we both left the hospital. It was so amazing! To see Anna and how much she has grown...and just to catch up with Melissa and to share experiences and be amazed at how similar they really are!

It's Josh's commercial!

A few weeks ago, Josh booked a commercial gig for the USGA...and how perfect was that? Combining two of his favorite things, acting and golf, into an entire day. (If somehow you could have thrown me and Avery into the mix, it would have been the best day ever!):) Anyway, the turnaround was fast and just last weekend, we got to see his commercial for five straight days during the US Open (it extended one day thanks to Rocco and Tiger making it interesting). It was so much fun to see it...and then to hear from so many of you! So, I have posted his commercial here for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

It's been a while...

So, okay, I know its been a long time since our last post. And I do apologize to all of our faithful blog watchers and blog stalkers. But, I guess you could say that we have been busy! I am back to work from home, we celebrated Fathers Day, Josh filmed a commercial (which many of you saw - thank you for your calls, texts and emails to wish Josh congratulations!).
So, a lot has been going on. And during all of that, Avery continues to grow, smile, coo, suck on her hands, and all of that fun baby stuff that goes on. She goes back to the doctor next week, and right now we are guessing that she ways about 10.5 pounds or so. She is getting so stinkin' big!! On the 15th, she turned 4 months old, which I can hardly believe. She is technically a little over 2 months old with her development. So, we are moving along...

Another great weekend...

2 of Josh's sisters and our nephew came to visit us last weekend - Heather and Christa and baby Lucas. It was so fun and so relaxing. Lots of hanging out, eating, talking, and playing with babies. :) Lucas was born towards the end of October - but, just look at the difference between him and his cousin Avery! Too cute... We can't wait to see them grow up together.
