just a few good times at the LA county fair

we ventured all the way out to pomona last weekend to enjoy the festivities at the LA county fair. we went with some good friends of ours, scott and kayli, and all of us said that it doesn't really seem like a fair when you're walking around on blacktop instead of dirt/hay/natural ground. anyone agree with me on that?
anyway...we had a great time. mostly pigging out on the food. and we ate A LOT. i took pleasure in the homemade potato chips, some indian fry bread (better known as elephant ears), ice cream...some of josh's fried snickers...some of scotts corn dog the size of a real dog...and then some of kayli's ice cream. good times.
a good trivia question...how many calories are consumed in one day at the fair? wish i knew the answer... oh, and avery had a good time too. :)

Joshua Craig turns the big 3-0

And we celebrated in grand fashion! when I asked Josh what he wanted to do for his 30th birthday, he was very excited and very serious about what he wanted...a roast party! yes, he wanted his friends to mock him. i thought..."okay, whatever you want...but, you do realize that they will probably have a lot of ammo, right?"
It was a great evening! And although there were many roasts, there were even more toasts to Josh. I mean, really, I am his wife and all...but what can you say bad about this guy? Yes, he's balding...a skinny white kid...a tad forgetful. BUT, he is also kind, thoughtful, loving, hilarious, generous, a great dancer, fun, and the best friend, father and husband anyone could find. I am so blessed to have this all in my husband. Love ya, babe...and happy birthday!!
(oh, by the way, he wore a tux to his party as a joke...not for real!)

And Avery helping her dad blow out his candles on Monday Night Football...the night of his actual birthday. Thankfully, the Cowboys won this game and all was well in the world.

FYI

Avery turned 7 months old yesterday...wow...hard to believe she is more than halfway to turning 1! This happened on the same day that Josh turned 30. So glad he hit the big 3-0 before I did!

Happy Birthday, babe! I'll say hi to the 20's for ya.

Avery the Chicken

We celebrated Halloween a little early this year...Just because I love this chicken costume from my sisters and I don't think Avery will fit into it by the time Halloween actually rolls around. So, what is the harm in dressing up my little girl in a chicken costume for no particular reason?
She rather enjoyed it...although you wouldn't tell because of course, the second she sees that camera, she loses her gorgeous smile. She's still pretty gorgeous anyway. :)
Don't worry...come Halloween, she already has another costume ready and waiting...

Go Cowboys! ...or Browns! ...uh...hmmm...

We went to the Dallas Cowboys vs. Cleveland Browns game while we were in Ohio last week. First game of the season! And do you really expect Josh to be tame at a game like this? He pulled out the Jason Witten jersey and the Cowboys hat to strut around Cleveland on game day. He got yelled at...cursed at...all of the expected. No beer bottles thrown though, I am happy to report. And what did I wear? I was SO torn! What to do...? But, I did it - I wore Cowboys gear! And yes, I got yelled at...and cursed at...and told that I, personally, suck.

We had a great time - there were 1o of us! Me and Josh, my sisters Kristen and Kelly, my bros-in-law Bryse and Craig, my cousin Kali and her husband Josh from Memphis and Bob's daughter Katie and her husband Cory. We tailgated and just had a blast. (Meanwhile, my mom and Bob were at home babysitting all 7 grandkids! 2 days after their wedding!! Bless them!)

Ohio Get-away, part 2 - Here Comes the Bride!

A beautiful day for a wedding! Sept 5 my mom and her man Bob tied the knot in a really lovely ceremony. They were both glowing and so happy to begin their new life together. And we are all so happy for them!

And Avery really does smile all the time...I just realized that in most of these pictures, she looks like a deer in headlights...but, I tell ya, the second that camera comes out, she wipes any sign of a smile off her face. and she has such a pretty smile... :)
