Avery is now up to 3lbs. 7oz...will probably be up to 8oz by the end of today. She is quite the eater! Keep it up, A!

Big day for Avery

Yesterday, as you can tell by the pictures, was a big day for Avery. It was her first time trying to feed from a bottle! And she did a great job (she's such a smart girl!). Avery has now figured out how to suck, swallow and breathe at the same time - which is what is needed to be able to do that, in case you didn't know. So, we will continue to try feeding this way once a day, until she has mastered the craft. Oh, it also takes a lot of energy out of her, so, she sleeps like a log after it. That's our girl!

Happy Day

Avery is doing great! She is now 9 days old and up to 3lbs 2oz. She continues to eat like a champ - we are so proud of her!

Our favorite part of the day is spending time with her - visiting Avery, hanging out with her, holding her, changing her diaper and doing everything that the amazing nurses allow us to do to help care for her.
Every day, she continues to make us laugh. And let me tell you, she continues to be a feisty little girl...She loves to kick her feet and flail her arms while she is sleeping, which cracks us up. Thank you all, once again, for your continued thoughts and prayers...what a blessing!!

Avery turns one week old...

This post is to wish Avery a very happy birthday! What a week it has been...

Today Avery celebrated by eating a lot, hanging out with Mom and Dad and surpassing the three pound mark!

We tell her about all of her family and friends all the time and how much they love, care, and support her. She is pretty stoked (especially now that she is getting the stimulants that the adrenal gland produces through her catheter).

She was also contemplative at a week old today as witnessed below. Our little thinker...

Avery Jane

We are so blessed and happy to announce the birth of our little baby girl - Avery Jane.

Avery was born on February 15, 2008 at 9:42pm. She weighed in at 2 lbs. 13.7 oz and measured 15.5 inches in length.

As many of you are aware, Avery made her arrival into our lives 7 weeks early. Even so, she is a bundle of love, energy and strength. We are so thankful for the love that surrounded her when she entered this world. She has been bathed in prayers, support, love and comfort that comes from above through so many of you! Thank you all for your continued blessings and prayers for our little girl. We will continue to update this blog with information on Avery's life and progress. Blessings!
